Overview
Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens in Ikenohata, Taito-ku, Tokyo, is holding its "Underground & Billiard Room Guided Tour." The tour takes visitors through the underground passage to the billiard room and inside the billiard room itself, areas that are normally closed to the public. In November 2026, the tour will be held on the 16th.
The tour usually takes place on the 15th of each month. In November 2026, however, it moves one day later to November 16. Be careful not to show up on the 15th out of habit.
The main draw is the chance to enter areas that are normally off-limits. Regular visitors cannot enter the underground passage to the billiard room or the billiard room itself. You can only see them with a guide during the tour. Even if you've visited Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens before, the tour offers a new look at the site.
Tours run twice a day, at 10:00 and 13:00. Each tour is limited to 10 people. The small groups let you take your time and listen to the guide, but spots may fill up quickly.
Registration is at the counter on the day, first come, first served. Advance reservations are not available, so if you want to join, arrive with plenty of time to spare. You can only register yourself. If you want to join with family or friends, one person can't sign up for the whole group, so everyone must go to the counter together.
