[Ueno] Machinaka Concert on October 10 at the Tokyo National Museum

Overview

Tokyo Bunka Kaikan presents "Machinaka Concert: Autumn of the Arts, a Musical Stroll" in the 1F Lounge of the Heiseikan at the Tokyo National Museum. It's a relaxed music event suited to the autumn arts season, held in an open lounge inside the museum. The Ueno Park area is home to the Tokyo National Museum and many other cultural institutions, and it attracts plenty of art and history lovers. This concert's appeal is its location and format: museum visitors can drop in between exhibitions.

There are two performances, 11:00–11:20 and 12:00–12:20, each with a program of about 20 minutes. It's open to ages 0 and up, so families with small children can easily attend. The short running time also makes it easy to fit into a museum visit. Tokyo Bunka Kaikan is based in Ueno and has long worked to bring music to a wider audience. Events like this one, held in partnership with other venues, are part of its effort to make classical and other music more accessible.

The venue, the 1F Lounge of the Heiseikan, is an open space along the main visitor route through the Tokyo National Museum. Listening to music while taking a break from the exhibitions could be a nice way to enjoy an autumn stroll through Ueno.
