[Ueno] Claude Monet 100th Anniversary Exhibition Opens July 22!

Overview

A special exhibition marking 100 years since the death of Claude Monet is now on in Ueno. It commemorates the centenary of the death of Monet, a leading Impressionist painter, and is held in the permanent collection galleries on the 2nd floor of the New Wing. Because it is set within the permanent collection space, it offers a different way to see the works than a special exhibition would. Monet is known for works such as "Impression, Sunrise," which explore light and color, and this centenary exhibition is a rare chance to look back on his career. It runs for about two months, from July 22 to September 23, so you can take your time with it from summer into autumn.
