[Ueno] "Subtracting Colors: White, Black, and Many More" opens October 6 at the International Library of Children's Literature
Overview
The International Library of Children's Literature in Ueno will hold the exhibition "Subtracting Colors: White, Black, and Many More." It takes place in the Museum of Books on the 3rd floor of the Brick Building.
The exhibition has two parts. Part 1 runs from October 6 to December 20, 2026, and Part 2 runs from January 19 to April 18, 2027. It opens in autumn and continues through winter into the following spring, so you can enjoy it for more than six months.
The title "Subtracting Colors" and the subtitle "White, Black, and Many More" suggest an approach that takes colors away instead of adding them. White, black, and many other colors: the title makes you want to visit and see how the exhibition presents them.
There is a gap between the end of Part 1 (December 20) and the start of Part 2 (January 19). If you plan to visit over the New Year holidays, check the dates of both parts before you go. You could also visit both parts and compare them.
For questions about the exhibition, call the International Library of Children's Literature main line (03-3827-2053). If anything is unclear, it's a good idea to check before your visit.
If you're walking around Ueno between autumn and spring, consider stopping by the Museum of Books on the 3rd floor of the Brick Building at the International Library of Children's Literature.
