Spring TOKYO Instagram Photo Contest 2026
The "Spring TOKYO Instagram Photo Contest 2026" will be held across Tokyo's metropolitan parks, including Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Garden in the Ueno area. The contest is a joint event covering metropolitan parks throughout Tokyo, and Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Garden is Ueno's entry on the list of participating sites.
What sets this contest apart is that it isn't limited to a single venue. It's a joint project spanning Tokyo's metropolitan park system. Visitors use a camera or smartphone to capture the scenery and seasonal character of parks across the city, then share their photos on Instagram. Along the way, participants can rediscover each park's appeal from their own point of view.
In the Ueno area, Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Garden is one of the participating sites. With the garden joining this park-wide initiative, people visiting Ueno get one more way to enjoy the area. Regular visitors and first-timers drawn in by the contest alike can explore the garden and Tokyo's parks through photography.
Because the contest covers the whole metropolitan park system, it also gives people a reason to visit parks across the city, not just one. The inclusion of Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Garden also shows, from a local media perspective, where Ueno fits within this citywide initiative.
Little information is available so far. Details such as the contest period, how to enter, fees and the official URL have not yet been announced. We will provide updates as more details are released.
