Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens: Free Admission for Visitors Aged 60 and Over, September 15–21

Overview

Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens in Ikenohata, Ueno, will offer free admission to visitors aged 60 and over for one week, from Tuesday, September 15 to Monday, September 21 (public holiday).

The gardens surround the former main residence of the Iwasaki family, founders of the Mitsubishi zaibatsu. Located at 1-3-45 Ikenohata, Taito-ku, the site sits across Shinobazu Pond from Ueno Park (Ueno Onshi Koen). As one of the Tokyo Metropolitan Gardens, it is a good place for a casual stroll as well as for touring historic buildings. During this period, older visitors can enjoy the gardens without paying admission.

The one-week period includes the Silver Week consecutive holidays. Anyone aged 60 or over is exempt from the regular admission fee, whether visiting with family or friends or exploring on their own.

Details and the latest information are available on the official website.
