[Ueno] A "Ueno-to-Ueno" Train That Passes Through Tokyo Station! Running from Ueno Station in November
Overview
In November, a rare "Ueno-to-Ueno" train will run, departing from Ueno Station and returning to Ueno Station.
Besides starting and ending at the same station, the train's defining feature is that it passes through Tokyo Station along the way. Tokyo Station is served by many lines and always crowded, and rolling through it without stopping is something you would almost never experience on an ordinary trip.
The train also covers a section said to be "S-rank" in riding difficulty. Its big appeal is the chance to travel, on a single train, a section you would rarely ride during your daily commute or on a regular trip. It's a run worth watching not only for railway fans but also for anyone who wants to enjoy trains from a different angle.
The "Ueno-to-Ueno" destination display itself is another highlight unique to this train. Because it returns to the station it left from rather than heading somewhere else, it is clearly a special train meant for the ride itself, not for getting from A to B. It offers a chance to enjoy railways by savoring the journey rather than reaching a destination.
Ueno Station, the departure and arrival point, is the area's gateway and a busy hub. Part of the fun is the surprise of setting out from a familiar station onto a route you would normally never take. For local Ueno residents, too, it promises to be a special rail experience starting from their neighborhood station.
Details such as specific operating dates, fares, and how to board have not yet been announced. If you are thinking of riding, keep an eye out for upcoming announcements.
