[From Mon. 8/17] Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens Launches Online Admission Tickets (Date-Specific)

On Monday, August 17, 2026, Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens in Ikenohata, Taito-ku, began selling online admission tickets. When you buy a ticket, you pick the date of your visit.

Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens is a popular garden that preserves rare Meiji-era architecture. Until now, visitors usually bought tickets at the on-site ticket window. With the new online tickets, visitors can pick a visit date and buy tickets in advance.

Because visitors can set their date around their own schedules, planning a visit is easier than buying at the window. This is especially useful for people coming from far away or with limited time to see the gardens. With the visit date set in advance, it's easier to plan the rest of the day.

The gardens are in Ikenohata, a quiet part of the Ueno area. Shinobazu Pond and other green spaces are nearby. If you want to visit the historic buildings and explore the surrounding area too, date-specific online tickets make planning easier.

Underground & Billiard Room Guided Tour Held on November 16, 2026

The guided tour of the underground passage to the billiard room and the billiard room interior, both normally closed to the public, usually takes place on the 15th of each month. In November 2026, it will be held on 11/16 instead. Tours run twice, at 10:00 and 13:00, with up to 10 people per tour. Registration is at the counter on the day, first come, first served (you can only register yourself).
