[Ueno] Izakaya "Toroichi Ueno" opens October 16!
Overview
On Friday, October 16, 2026, the izakaya "Toroichi Ueno" will open in Ueno. This is Toroichi's first location in Tokyo, and Ueno was chosen as its first base in the city.
Its main feature is all-you-can-drink sake from all 47 prefectures. With sake from every corner of Japan, from north to south, gathered in one place, you can try regional brews you rarely come across or sample small amounts of brands that catch your interest. It looks set to be a place where both sake lovers and those just starting to explore sake can find their favorites among a wide selection.
The menu centers on seasonal seafood. Sake and seafood are a classic pairing, and the chance to enjoy seafood that changes with the seasons alongside sake from across the country is what makes this restaurant special. The word "Toro" (fatty tuna) in its name also hints at its focus on fish, especially tuna.
On opening day, October 16, the following two promotions will be held to celebrate the opening.
- 120 minutes of all-you-can-drink sake for 1 yen All-you-can-drink sake from all 47 prefectures for 120 minutes, for just 1 yen. A chance to leisurely compare sake from across Japan, available on opening day only.
- Free bluefin tuna chunks Befitting a restaurant known for seasonal seafood, chunks of bluefin tuna will be served free of charge.
It's a rare opportunity to experience, from day one, the pairing that best represents the restaurant: all-you-can-drink sake and bluefin tuna. Both promotions are available only on opening day, October 16, so mark your calendar if you're interested. For detailed conditions and how the offers will be served, it's best to check the restaurant's announcements in advance.
All eyes are on how "Toroichi," making its Tokyo debut, will become a new option in Ueno. Why not stop by on opening day to enjoy sake from across Japan and seasonal seafood?
