[Ueno] Shitamachi.Halloween 2026 Comes to Ueno Park from October 31!
Shitamachi.Halloween 2026, a Halloween event organized by the Ueno Chuo-dori Shopping Street Association, will take place over two days, Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Hakamagoshi Plaza and Bentenmon-mae Plaza in Ueno Park (Ueno Onshi Park).
The first day, October 31, is Halloween itself. This year it falls on a Saturday, so together with the following Sunday, the event runs across the weekend. With many people off work or school, it should be easy to plan a visit with family or friends.
The event uses two venues inside Ueno Park: Hakamagoshi Plaza and Bentenmon-mae Plaza. Unlike events held in a single location, it is spread across two plazas in the park. The organizer, the Ueno Chuo-dori Shopping Street Association, is—as its name suggests—a merchants' association along Chuo-dori in Ueno, and the event is planned primarily by these local businesses.
The "Shitamachi" in the event's name refers to the traditional name for this part of Tokyo, including Ueno. Run by local merchants and set in the area's best-known park, this seasonal event looks like a great way to enjoy autumn in Ueno.
Details such as the program, fees and opening hours at each venue have not yet been confirmed. If you plan to attend, we recommend checking for updates from the organizer before you go.
Why not head to Ueno Park for Shitamachi.Halloween 2026 over the Halloween weekend?
