[Ueno] Ueno Tourism Federation Co-Hosted Machikon Sells Out Early! "Ueno Summer Festival × Inoichi Bon Odori"
Overview
On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the matchmaking event "Ueno Summer Festival × Inoichi Bon Odori Walking Machikon: Summer Festival Matchmaking Stroll" was held in Ueno. It was co-hosted by "machicon JAPAN," an event e-commerce site operated by Linkbal Inc., and the Ueno Tourism Federation (general incorporated association). The event ran twice that day, and all 60 spots across both sessions were filled one week in advance, leading to an early sell-out announcement.
Participants had a reserved area at the "75th Edo Shumi Noryo Taikai (Edo-Style Summer Festival) – Ueno Summer Festival," held around Ueno Park and Shinobazu Pond. Next to the "Rin Rin Corridor," where about 4,000 wind chimes ring, they mingled over festival stall food and drinks. They then walked a few minutes to the "Inoichi Bon Odori," held the same day, for free time to enjoy the festival as they liked, making it a tour of two festivals.
As the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Citizens and Cultural Affairs focuses on marriage support through initiatives such as the "Marriage Support Campaign TOKYO Hachimusubi," the Ueno Tourism Federation approached Linkbal saying it "wanted to try a project linked to a local festival." Linkbal then took charge of planning and running the event.
