[Ueno] Ueno Book Cafe Leaf Celebrates First Anniversary with Community Event
Aug 12, 2026 · In front of Ueno Station
Ueno Book Cafe Leaf, located in front of Ueno Station, marked its first anniversary in July 2026 with a talk event featuring a local author. Combining a bookstore and a cafe, the shop has gradually built a following among local residents and book lovers as a place to relax with a book in hand.
The event welcomed an author who lives in the area as a guest, who shared stories about their creative work and their feelings for the Ueno neighborhood. It was a relaxed gathering that encouraged interaction with attendees. The shop also sold a limited-edition anniversary coffee blend and original merchandise, drawing a lively crowd made up mostly of regulars.
The shop plans to continue holding events regularly, and further growth is expected as a bookstore cafe rooted in the community.
